Director & Coach

Lindsey Wolkin

Lindsey joined the Tremors coaching staff in 2007, and became the Director in 2012.

She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and has a competitive background in freestyle and synchronized skating, and is a Gold Medalist in Ice Dance. Lindsey has over a decade of National level competitive synchro experience, and has competed Internationally on Team USA. She was a member of Miami University's Varsity Collegiate Synchronized Skating Team, and graduated Cum Laude with a double major in Creative Writing and Graphic Design. While at Miami she earned two National Gold medals and a Silver. Lindsey is a PSA Master Rated Coach in Skating Skills and holds a Certified Rating in Synchronized Skating. In 2014 she was chosen for US Figure Skating's WIN Project coaching program in Courmayer, Italy. Lindsey has also worked as a guest coach with Team Vizyon, the leading Senior Team in Ankara, Turkey in preparation for the World Synchronized Skating Championships.

Coach

Chantal Hersey

Chantal joined the Tremors Synchronized Skating Teams' coaching staff in 2013.

Chantal is a Massachusetts native with an extensive skating background consisting of over 10 years of synchronized skating experience. She skated nine years with the Hayden Synchronized Skating Teams under the direction of both Lynn Benson and Saga Krantz. She has competed Nationally and Internationally (Team USA) with the Ice Mates and Haydenettes. In 2008 she helped earned Hayden's first World Bronze Medal for the long program at the World Synchronized Skating Championships in Hungary, Budapest with the Haydenettes.

Chantal also worked under the direction of Karen Kresge and Woodstock Ice Productions.

Coach

Zeynep Aydin

Zeynep joined the Tremors Synchronized Skating Teams' coaching staff in 2020.

Zeynep grew up skating in Turkey and was a Turkish National Synchronized Skating Team Athlete from 2000-2005. Zeynep has over a decade of figure skating coaching experience that includes serving as the Figure Skating Competition Manager in the 2017 European Youth Olympic Games, and Assistant Manager in the 2011 Winter Universiade. She has participated in the ISU Synchronized Skating High-Level Development Camps in Finland and Italy and many international high-level figure skating Summer Camps. In addition, Zeynep’s coaching experience includes six ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships, four ISU Junior Figure Skating Grand Prix, a World Junior Figure Skating Championship and a European Championship. Zeynep is a ISU National level Technical Specialist for Synchronized Skating.

Coach

Cheney Lyford

Cheney joined the Tremors Synchronized Skating Teams' coaching staff in 2021.

Cheney is from Roseville, CA and skated on the Tremors Synchronized Skating team in 2013 - 2014. She continued her skating career at Miami University where she graduated cum laude in 2018 with degrees and math and computer science. At Miami University, she skated on the junior and collegiate teams. While on the collegiate team she earned the rookie of the year award for the 2015-2016 season, was team captain, and won a national championship. Cheney re-joined the Tremors Synchronized Skating on the Adult Team in 2019.

Coach

Annie Okada

Annie joined the Tremors Synchronized Skating coaching staff in 2023.

Annie grew up skating competitively in Fairfax, Virginia as a freestyle skater and briefly joined the Capitol Steps Synchronized Skating Team in 2006, under coaches Susan Petruccelli and Monica Schultz. Annie was a USFS regional and ISI International competitor and medalist. Annie’s skating career also consisted of helping with professional shows produced by Michael Weiss and skated in shows produced by Parker Pennington. Annie began coaching in 2012 when she was attending the University of Oregon and at Yerba Buena Ice Skating & Bowling Center in 2019 as a group and private lesson coach. Annie joined the Tremors Synchronized Skating Adult Team in 2020 and is excited to join the coaching staff for the upcoming season!

Coach

Martina Lee

Martina joined the Tremors Synchronized Skating coaching staff in 2023.

Martina is from Naperville, IL and grew up skating competitively in the Chicagoland area as a freestyle skater and synchronized skater on the Downer Grove Dazzlers. She has competed across various synchro levels since 2006 and was a USFS regional and national competitor and medalist. Martina moved to San Francisco in 2016 and joined the Tremors Synchronized Skating Adult Team in 2018, where she was team captain for 4 years.

Strength Training

Nicole Popovich

Nicole graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and holds a personal and group training certification through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine).  Her love of fitness and coaching stems from 18 years of competitive and professional figure skating at both the national and international levels.  A Pennsylvania native, she followed her dreams of skating in professional ice shows after college, and ended up in the Bay Area!  Nicole believes that what we learn from our sport and fitness journeys helps shape us into the people we are today, and loves to be able to share that with others.

Dance & Expression

Kim Navarro

Kim is a Two-Time U.S. Bronze Medalist in Ice Dance and Two-Time World Team Member. As a professional skater she has performed with Holiday on Ice, Broadway on Ice, Sun Valley On Ice,  The Ice Theatre of New York and in the 2014 Olympic Team Tour of Stars on Ice. She has appeared in an episode of the television show Glee and competed with the skating act "Aerial Ice" on America's Got Talent. Kim graduated from Columbia University, cum laude, with a degree in English and minor in Dance and is a USFS Gold Medalist in Dance, Freestyle and Moves in the Field
