Meet Our Coaches


Lindsey Wolkin

Director & Head Coach


Lindsey joined the Tremors coaching staff in 2007, and became the Director in 2012.

She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and has a competitive background in freestyle and synchronized skating. Lindsey has over a decade of National level competitive synchro experience, and has skated Internationally on Team USA. She was a member of Miami University's Varsity Collegiate Synchronized Skating Team, and graduated Cum Laude with a double major in creative writing and graphic design. While at Miami she earned two National Gold medals and a silver. Lindsey is a PSA Master Rated coach in Moves in the Field and holds a Certified rating in Synchronized Skating. In 2014 she was chosen for US Figure Skating's WIN Project coaching program in Courmayer, Italy. Lindsey has also worked as a guest coach with Team Vizyon, the leading Senior Team in Ankara, Turkey in preparation for the World Championships.


Chantal Hersey

Assistant Coach


Chantal joined the Tremors Synchronized Skating Teams' coaching staff in 2013.

Chantal is a Massachusetts native with an extensive skating background consisting of over 10 years of synchronized skating experience. She skated nine years with the Hayden Synchronized Skating Teams under the direction of both Lynn Benson and Saga Krantz. She has competed Nationally and Internationally (Team USA) with the Ice Mates and Haydenettes. In 2008 she helped earned Hayden's first World Bronze Medal for the long program at the World Synchronized Skating Championships in Hungary, Budapest with the Haydenettes.

Chantal also worked under the direction of Karen Kresge and Woodstock Ice Productions.

Cheney Lyford

Assistant Coach


Cheney joined the Tremors Synchronized Skating Teams' coaching staff in 2019.

She is from Northern California where she skated with Sierra Storm and the Tremors at the intermediate and junior level. Cheney continued her skating career at Miami University where she graduated in 2018 with bachelors degrees in math and computer science. At Miami she skated on the junior and collegiate teams and was the assistant coach for Miami’s open collegiate team. While on the Collegiate team she earned the Rookie of the Year award, a national championship, and was team captain. She now works in San Francisco as a software engineer. Cheney brings 18 years of synchro experience.

Guest Coaches


Taylor Walker

Guest Choreographer, Asst. Coach


Taylor is from Southern California, where she developed her love for synchronized skating with the ICE ‘Kateers. She graduated from Miami University in 2013, having skated for their senior team all four years. In the 2016-17 season she skated for NEXXICE Senior team in Canada, helping the team earn a bronze medal at the 2017 World Championships. She has coached for Team Braemar and the ICE ‘Kateers and is now working as a consultant, helping teams across the US and internationally.

Kim Navarro

Dance Instructor


Kim is a Two-Time U.S. Bronze Medalist in Ice Dance and Two-Time World Team Member. As a professional skater she has performed with Holiday on Ice, Broadway on Ice, Sun Valley On Ice,  The Ice Theatre of New York and in the 2014 Olympic Team Tour of Stars on Ice. She has appeared in an episode of the television show Glee and competed with the skating act "Aerial Ice" on America's Got Talent. Kim graduated from Columbia University, cum laude, with a degree in English and minor in Dance and is a USFS Gold Medalist in Dance, Freestyle and Moves in the Field.


Frankie Lee Peterson III

Dance & Body Movement Instructor


Frankie Lee Peterson III is an Izzie Award nominee, freelance artist, who received his BFA from UNCSA. He has danced with Zaccho Dance Theater, Alyssa Mitchel, Zion Dance Project, Gaspard & Dancers, dawsondancesf, Rising Rhythm SF, Helen Simoneau Danse, Antonio Brown Dance, dendy/donavan projects, RAWdance and Oakland Ballet. He has choreographed for the Bay Area Ballet Conservatory, Gritty City Repertory Youth Ensemble, Dance Mission Grrrl Brigade and Zion Dance Project. He was recently an Adjunct Professor at Mills College and currently teaches for LINES Dance Center, TEENS at LINES, Bay Area Ballet Conservatory, the Boys and Girls Club and Dance Mission Grrrl Brigade. His brand is, “fLEE dance”; which stands for the acronym: fleeked, loving, enlightened and educating
