Lindsey Wolkin

Head Coach & Director

 

Lindsey began skating at 5 years old in the learn-to-skate program in Cleveland, Ohio. She competed in freestyle and synchronized skating through high school and college. Lindsey has competed synchro at the Intermediate, Senior, Collegiate, Adult, and Master divisions Nationally, and Internationally at the Senior Division. She was a member of Team USA representing the US in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1998. Her training continued through college on the Miami University Varsity Collegiate Synchronized Skating Team where she earned two National gold medals. Lindsey graduated Miami University Summa Cum Laude with two degrees in English and Graphic Design. In 2008 she earned her MFA in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University. She is a gold medalist in Moves in the field and Ice dance, and has her Master Rating in Moves in the Field (the highest professional distinction). Lindsey began working with Paige and the Tremors in 2007, and in 2012 was appointed Director of the Tremors Synchronized Skating program. Lindsey was selected by US Figure Skating to participate in the 2014 WIN coaching program in Courmayer Italy. This year, Lindsey will travel to Turkey to work with Team Turkey in preparation for their World Synchronized Skating Championship skate.

In addition to coaching, Lindsey has worked with youth as a creative writing teacher, and an art teacher. Lindsey continues to write and work in her home studio. You might find her reading or displaying her work at local events!

Chantal Hersey

Assistant Coach

 

Chantal joined the Tremors Synchronized Skating Teams' coaching staff in 2013.

Chantal is a Massachusetts native with an extensive skating background consisting of over 10 years of synchronized skating experience. She skated nine years with the Hayden Synchronized Skating Teams under the direction of both Lynn Benson and Saga Krantz. She has competed Nationally and Internationally with the Ice Mates and Haydenettes. In 2008 she helped earned Hayden's first World Bronze Medal for the long program at the World Synchronized Skating Championships in Hungary, Budapest with the Haydenettes.

Chantal also worked under the direction of Karen Kresge and Woodstock Ice Productions.

De De Messner

Assistant Coach

 

DeDe is a USFS Double Gold Medalist in Figures and Freestyle. She was a regional and sectional singles competitor. She is a 4 time National Synchronized Team Skating Medalist and International Gold Medalist. DeDe has over 25 years of coaching experience and has led her teams to 14 national appearances, four national medals, a gold medal in international competition and 5 Pacific Coast Titles.  As an experienced synchronized skater and coach, DeDe has the expertise in the technical and artistic elements of synchronized skating.  DeDe coaches students and teams of all ages and abilities.  In addition, DeDe is a professional Dance Team Coach. She works with additional teams outside her ice skating talents as a valued and professional choreographer.

Taylor Walker

Skills Clinic Coach

 

Taylor is from Southern California, where she developed her love for synchronized skating with the ICE ‘Kateers. She graduated from Miami University in 2013, having skated for their senior team all four years. In the 2016-17 season she skated for NEXXICE Senior team in Canada, helping the team earn a bronze medal at the 2017 World Championships. She has coached for Team Braemar and the ICE ‘Kateers and is now working as a consultant, helping teams across the US and internationally.

Kim Navarro

Dance Instructor & Skills Clinic Coach

Kim is a Two-Time U.S. Bronze Medalist in Ice Dance and Two-Time World Team Member. As a professional skater she has performed with Holiday on Ice, Broadway on Ice, Sun Valley On Ice,  The Ice Theatre of New York and in the 2014 Olympic Team Tour of Stars on Ice. She has appeared in an episode of the television show Glee and competed with the skating act "Aerial Ice" on America's Got Talent. Kim graduated from Columbia University, cum laude, with a degree in English and minor in Dance and is a USFS Gold Medalist in Dance, Freestyle and Moves in the Field.
